Lawsuit Against Grant County Over Jail Overdose Death to Continue

A lawsuit against Grant County over a jail inmate's overdose death can move forward, according to a Washington Appeals Court decision. The parents of 34-year-old Derek Batton sued the county last year after he overdosed on heroin in 2018, accusing the county of negligence in failing to search another inmate for drugs.
